Noting that media was gradually losing its ‘’credibility and integrity’’, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology on Wednesday recommended setting up of a ‘Media Council’ with statutory powers to check ‘’irregularities’’ in print, electronic and digital platforms.
